Shanthiniketan Institution is involved in the Special Education and well-bring of mentally challenged children since 1985. The institution is providing Psychological assessment, Specialist consultation, pre-vocational training, vocational training, Home-training, Parent counseling, Behavior Modification, follow-up service and Placement services for the mentally challenged persons.

Shanthiniketan is Non-profit voluntary organisation registered under Register of Societies, Government of Andhra Pradesh vide No:2237/1987, Dated 6-10-1987.

Shanthiniketan has it's head quarters at Vanasthalipuram, Ranga Reddy District, Andhra Pradesh and operates a Rehabilitation center at Hayath nagar Mandal, R.R.District - 501 105

The Urban project run at Vanasthalipuram provides Day-care and Residential, Vocational Training facilities for the Mentally Handicapped Children.

Shanthiniketan is aided by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India from 1990 onwards, and is registered under the following:

• Donations to Shanthiniketan are Exempted from Income Tax Under Section 80G/12A of IT Act, 1961.
• Shanthiniketan is permitted to take contribution from Foreign Agencies (FCRA No:121010101)
• Exempted from Vehicle Tax by Road Transport Authority, Government of Andhra Pradesh
• Recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Department of Disabled Welfare
• Recognised by the Planning Commission, Government of India
• Affiliated to the Federation for the Welfare of Mentally Retarded ( New Delhi)
• Member Institution of Andhra Pradesh Association for the welfare of the Mentally Retarded
• Registered under National Trust Act (Govt. of India vide No: 0140 / MR / 2004)
• Registered under persons with disabilities Act under section 52 of persons with disabilities Act 1995.
